M&M Floors says its per sq ft prices include grinding, crack repair and a topcoat. Whitcrete's figures are what its calculator shows for a floor in good condition. Garage Boss and Garage Strategies publish a price per sq ft and no garage total. Garage Floors 4 Less publishes one Canada-wide list, which its Edmonton location links to. Prices as published on each source's own site, re-checked October 13, 2026. They change, and none of them is a quote. Pictimate is not affiliated with these businesses.
Edmonton's city weather station averages about 179 nights a year at or below freezing, and the international airport south of the city about 211 (Environment and Climate Change Canada, 1991 to 2020). Toronto Pearson averages about 131 and Vancouver International about 40. On about 86 days a year the city never gets above 0°C, and the average January temperature is about -10°C. That decides when a floor can be coated and with what.
M&M Floors gives about 10°C as the lowest air and slab temperature for epoxy, says the resin needs heaters below 5°C, and warns that winter installs may carry a small heat surcharge. Polyaspartic goes down colder. M&M installs it down to about -5°C, in heated garages or under tarps and heaters from January to March. Garage Boss says its polyaspartic can be applied above -6.7°C. Garage Strategies installs all winter and gives -20°C to 40°C as the application range of its own product. Each figure is that installer's statement about the product it uses, and the product's data sheet sets the limit, so ask which product goes down in winter and what temperature it needs.
Edmonton gets about 125 cm of snow a year: 124 cm at the city station and 127 cm at the airport (Environment and Climate Change Canada, 1991 to 2020). Tires carry it into the garage with whatever was spread on the road. Installers here point to their topcoats: Whitcrete says its polyaspartic holds up well against salt and calcium chloride, Garage Strategies lists salt among the chemicals its coating resists, and M&M Floors calls a polyaspartic topcoat worth the upgrade in Alberta for road salt and hot tires. These are installers' statements about their own products, not test results.
The condition of the slab moves the price. Whitcrete's calculator adds $150 for a few cracks and minor spalling, $300 for many cracks and moderate spalling, and $500 for cracks, spalling and pitting. M&M Floors budgets $0.75 to $1.50 more per sq ft for heavy prep: old paint, oil stains, cracks or pitted concrete. Garage Strategies repairs cracks and spalling on the day it coats, and notes that concrete that has broken off cannot be added back with repair compound.
The concrete wall base and the steps to the house are extras that change the total. Garage Boss lists stem wall coating and stair coating as options that match the floor. Whitcrete coats the vertical grade beam during its one-day install if you want it. Whitcrete and Garage Floors 4 Less both name steps and the wall base among the things that move their price. Check that your quote says whether they are included.
With a polyaspartic floor, Whitcrete allows light foot traffic about 12 hours after the last coat and vehicles after 24 hours. Garage Boss and Garage Strategies also say you can drive on theirs in 24 hours. M&M Floors says its epoxy floors can be walked on the same evening and asks for 5 to 7 days before vehicles.
M&M Floors prices a typical 2-car garage as 22 by 22 ft, or 484 sq ft. Whitcrete's calculator counts 425 to 599 sq ft as a double, and Garage Floors 4 Less lists a 2-car garage as 350 to 425 sq ft. Measure yours before you compare totals.
From Edmonton installers' own published prices, a 2-car garage comes in between about $2,800 and $5,200, depending on its size and the system. Cracks, spalling, an old coating, steps or a stem wall add to that.
You pay 5% GST. Alberta has no provincial sales tax: the Canada Revenue Agency lists Alberta at 5% GST and 0% PST (canada.ca, GST/HST calculator and rates). Most published prices don't say whether GST is included, so ask before you compare quotes.
Yes, with the right product and often with heat. M&M Floors gives about 10°C as the minimum for epoxy and installs polyaspartic down to about -5°C in heated garages or under tarps and heaters. Garage Boss says its polyaspartic can be applied above -6.7°C, and Garage Strategies installs its own all winter. The product's data sheet sets the limit.
Three of the five installers here sell a polyaspartic flake floor as their garage system: Whitcrete, Garage Boss and Garage Strategies. M&M Floors installs both, and most often puts a polyaspartic topcoat over an epoxy base. Polyaspartic is UV-stable and lets you park in about a day, but at M&M it costs about $2 more per sq ft. Whatever the system, grinding the slab properly first matters most.
About 24 hours with a polyaspartic floor, according to Whitcrete, Garage Boss and Garage Strategies. M&M Floors asks for 5 to 7 days before vehicles go on its epoxy floors. Your installer will give you the times for the products they use.
Installers here say their topcoats stand up to it: Whitcrete names salt and calcium chloride, and Garage Strategies lists salt among the chemicals its coating resists. Those are the installers' own statements, so ask what the warranty says about salt and de-icers.
No. It is a range built from what local installers publish. An installer confirms the real price after seeing your floor, usually with a free visit. If you want quotes, leave your details and we will pass them to a local installer.
