All prices are in US dollars. Shark Coatings publishes company-wide starting prices with no patio or pool deck size attached. Select Coatings gives its prices as the averages of its own jobs. Clear View Surface Solutions' rows are its Ultimate tier, the polyurea and polyaspartic flake system. We screened about 55 Canadian installers in October 2026 and found none that publishes its own outdoor coating price, so this guide covers the US only. Prices as published on each source's own site, re-checked October 20, 2026. They change, and none of them is a quote. No business pays to be included, and none can pay to change its row or its place in any list. Where an installer we cite is also a Pictimate customer, the page says so next to it.
Five of the installers here say plain epoxy yellows in the sun. Clear View Surface Solutions says outdoor epoxy yellows within the first summer and does not install rigid epoxy outdoors. FlakePro Coatings says standard epoxy yellows and chalks where UV reaches it, DJ Epoxy Solutions says standard epoxy on its own doesn't belong outdoors in Florida, EpoxyArt33 says standard epoxy-based systems can yellow and fade in constant sun, and Triple C Epoxy Flooring says epoxy can yellow where the sun hits it. All five sell outdoor floors finished with a polyaspartic topcoat instead, and Clear View also offers a flexible urethane system for slabs that move. Shark Coatings, Select Coatings and Clear View put the polyaspartic over a polyurea base coat, and Tru-Grit sells polyaspartic systems for patios, lanais and pool decks. MT Custom Coatings seals its epoxy with urethane or polyaspartic, and Kwekel Epoxy Floors says it uses UV-stable materials outdoors. Ask which topcoat your quote includes.
DJ Epoxy Solutions adds a non-slip additive to the topcoat on every pool deck. Clear View Surface Solutions broadcasts grip aggregate into the topcoat of its pool deck system, and on a patio can add aggregate where slipping is a concern. MT Custom Coatings says its epoxy can be slippery on its own and adds aluminum oxide on request. Triple C Epoxy Flooring says flake has natural grip, adds aluminum oxide at no charge if you want more, and warns that it makes the floor harder to keep clean. Kwekel Epoxy Floors suggests a fine anti-slip additive around splash zones and steps.
Clear View Surface Solutions says light colours reflect significantly more heat than dark ones and recommends lighter flake blends for pool decks, adding that its coating is not as cool as some specialty acrylic pool deck coatings. Kwekel Epoxy Floors says lighter flake blends stay more comfortable under bare feet. DJ Epoxy Solutions says a light blend reflects noticeably more sun than a dark one and that no coating makes a Florida deck cold in August, and it brings samples so you can compare them in your own light.
Some installers give a shorter warranty outdoors. Shark Coatings gives 15 years on interior installations and 5 years on exterior and pool deck installations. EpoxyArt33's pool deck page gives a 10-year warranty, while its lifetime warranty covers interior floors, garages and lanais for as long as you own the home. Others give outdoor work a long term: Select Coatings a 15-year workmanship warranty on patios, Clear View Surface Solutions 15 years on its Ultimate patio and pool deck systems, FlakePro Coatings 15 years against peeling indoors and out, patios and pool decks included, and Tru-Grit a lifetime warranty on its patio, lanai and pool deck systems. Get the outdoor terms in writing.
Triple C Epoxy Flooring says where a job lands in its range comes down to the size of the space, the shape the slab is in and how much prep it needs. FlakePro Coatings says heavy cracking, old coating removal or elevated moisture may add to the cost. Select Coatings prices a patio on concrete condition, access, special requests and work outside weekday hours. Kwekel Epoxy Floors lists outdoor exposure, size and access, and Clear View Surface Solutions says patios with stains, prior coatings or significant cracking need more prep time.
From installers' own published prices: $5 to $8 per sq ft for a flake patio, porch or lanai (Triple C Epoxy Flooring $5 to $7, Tru-Grit and FlakePro Coatings $6 to $8, DJ Epoxy Solutions from $6, MT Custom Coatings from $6.99, and Select Coatings' $8 average). As whole jobs, Kwekel Epoxy Floors lists $1,395 to $2,598 for a lanai, porch or patio, DJ Epoxy Solutions starts a 200 to 400 sq ft patio or lanai at $2,000, and Shark Coatings starts a small patio at $2,500 and a large one at $4,500. Measure your patio before you compare.
Per square foot, Triple C Epoxy Flooring charges $5 to $7 for a flake pool deck, Tru-Grit $6 to $9 and EpoxyArt33 $8 to $12. Tru-Grit puts a 700 to 900 sq ft deck on bare concrete at $4,200 to $6,800, Shark Coatings starts a small pool deck at $5,250, and Clear View Surface Solutions' standard pool deck system runs $3,400 to $10,000+ a project.
With some installers. Select Coatings' patios average $8 per sq ft against $6.50 for its garages, and EpoxyArt33 charges $8 to $12 for a pool deck or lanai against $6 to $10 for its garage flake system, saying pool decks and lanais need textured, cool-touch, UV-stable polyaspartic systems. MT Custom Coatings and FlakePro Coatings charge the same rate for a flake patio as for a flake garage floor, and Triple C Epoxy Flooring charges the same for a porch as for a garage.
Five of the installers here say plain epoxy yellows in the sun. Clear View Surface Solutions says outdoor epoxy yellows within the first summer, and FlakePro Coatings, DJ Epoxy Solutions, EpoxyArt33 and Triple C Epoxy Flooring say standard epoxy yellows, chalks or fades where the sun reaches it. All five sell outdoor floors finished with a polyaspartic topcoat instead, and MT Custom Coatings seals its epoxy with urethane or polyaspartic. Ask which topcoat your quote includes and what its outdoor warranty covers.
