Sledge Concrete Coatings publishes a price per sq ft and no garage total. Carefree Stone's figures are what its own calculator shows. The Saguaro Surface Coatings rows and the Superior Epoxy Floors sale floor are promotions that were on their pages when we checked, and they may end. Floor Shield Phoenix publishes one range for all garage sizes. Prices as published on each source's own site, re-checked October 13, 2026. They change, and none of them is a quote. Pictimate is not affiliated with these businesses.
Phoenix Sky Harbor averages about 111 days a year with a high of 100°F or more, and about 173 with a high of 90°F or more (NOAA NCEI climate normals, 1991 to 2020). The normal July high is 106.5°F and the normal July low is 84.5°F. That decides when a floor can be coated and with what.
Coating products have a temperature range. Simiron's data sheets for its 1100SL epoxy and its Polyaspartic HS both give 35 to 85°F for the air and the slab during application, and both warn that higher temperatures shorten the working time. Simiron makes an extra slow cure grade of that polyaspartic for extremely hot or humid conditions. Check's Epoxy says in its terms that coatings are sensitive to temperature and humidity, and that start dates and cure times may shift with the weather. Ask which product your installer uses, what its data sheet allows, and what time of day they coat in summer.
Carefree Stone says budget and DIY coatings soften under hot Arizona tires and peel where the car parks. Check's Epoxy says roll-on kits fail because they go over concrete with nothing to grip. Check's Epoxy, Carefree Stone, Floor Shield Phoenix, Saguaro Surface Coatings and Superior Epoxy Floors all say they diamond grind the slab before coating. These are installers' statements about their own work, not test results.
Plain epoxy is not UV-stable and can amber where sun reaches it. Installers here finish with a polyaspartic topcoat: Check's Epoxy, Superior Epoxy Floors and Floor Shield Phoenix each describe theirs as UV-stable.
Carefree Stone's calculator shows what condition does to a 2-car floor of about 450 sq ft: $2,475 to $3,050 in good condition, $2,825 to $3,375 with minor cracks, $3,150 to $3,725 over an existing coating and $3,375 to $3,950 with heavy damage. Check's Epoxy lists crack and pit repair at $200 to $600 where the slab needs it, and includes diamond grinding in its price. The Saguaro Surface Coatings promotion does not include removing an old coating.
Floor Shield Phoenix says its polyaspartic floor takes foot traffic the same day and vehicles the next day. Superior Epoxy Floors says most of its floors take two days to install and can be used 24 hours later. Check's Epoxy says you can usually walk on its floor within about 24 hours and park on it in roughly 2 to 3 days. Your installer will give you the times for the products they use.
Check's Epoxy counts about 400 to 500 sq ft as a 2-car garage and about 600 to 750 sq ft as a 3-car. Carefree Stone's calculator uses about 250, 450 and 650 sq ft for 1, 2 and 3 cars. Saguaro Surface Coatings prices a 2-car garage up to 450 sq ft and a 3-car up to 720 sq ft. Measure yours before you compare totals.
From Phoenix-area installers' own published prices, a 2-car garage with a flake floor runs from $2,200 to $4,200 at regular prices. Two promotions were lower when we checked: $1,399 and from $1,990. Cracks, an old coating, the size of the garage and the finish all move the price.
Arizona's sales tax is the transaction privilege tax. The Arizona Department of Revenue's contracting guidelines say that maintenance, repair, replacement and alteration work on an existing building is not taxable as prime contracting: the contractor pays tax on the materials and does not put a tax line on the customer's invoice. The guidelines do not name floor coatings, so ask your installer how they class the job. Most published prices here do not say whether tax is included, and Saguaro Surface Coatings says its promotion price does not include it.
Installers here sell floors in summer, and Superior Epoxy Floors calls its promotion a summer sale. Heat still sets limits. Sky Harbor averages about 111 days a year at 100°F or more (NOAA, 1991 to 2020), and two Simiron data sheets, one for an epoxy and one for a polyaspartic, give 85°F as the top of the air and slab temperature range for application. Ask which product your installer uses and what time of day they coat.
Most installers here use polyaspartic on top. Check's Epoxy and Superior Epoxy Floors put a polyaspartic topcoat over their flake floors, and the Superior Epoxy Floors sale floor has an epoxy base coat under it. Floor Shield Phoenix installs polyaspartic only. Sledge Concrete Coatings prices a polyaspartic system $0.50 per sq ft above its polyurethane one. Whatever the system, grinding the slab properly first matters most.
The two lowest prices here are promotions with conditions. Superior Epoxy Floors says its sale floor uses a lighter flake broadcast, a limited colour selection and a shorter warranty than its full broadcast floor. The Saguaro Surface Coatings price is a starting price for up to 450 sq ft, and it leaves out tax and old coating removal. Compare what is included, not just the total.
Floor Shield Phoenix says the next day for its polyaspartic floor. Superior Epoxy Floors says its floors can be used 24 hours after a two day install. Check's Epoxy says roughly 2 to 3 days. Your installer will give you the times for the products they use.
No. It is a range built from what local installers publish. An installer confirms the real price after seeing your floor, usually with a free visit. If you want quotes, leave your details and we will pass them to a local installer.
